INDIGO-CHILDREN

The New Kids Have Arrived is the subtitle of the book Indigo Children, written by Lee Carroll and Jan Tober. In America in the nineties the awareness arose that children born at this time showed new behavior patterns. From birth Indigo-children show remarkable communication. They adapt to the future better than we do.
This phenomenon is appearing throughout the world in various cultures. Researchers are keeping track of the awareness of these young people. They are called Indigo-children because indigo is the color of awareness.

Our ideas about education, school and manners make it almost impossible to recognize Indigo-children and take them seriously. Often their behavior collides with the values and standards of our society. Hyperactive children for example, if they are not given medicine, only with much adult effort can achieve a place in high school. Because Indigo-children are sensitive to sensory and extrasensory stimulation, such as the emotions of others, they seem easily distracted. For outsiders it looks as if these children are not listening or concentrating. In fact they process a large amount of information more efficiently on their own.
Between Indigo-Children and ourselves communication can be a problem. It is important to learn how to create space so that the child can be who he or she is, and can develop in his or her own way.

Every generation develops itself with new evolution. Carroll and Tober write: Indigo-children are ancient souls, which take us into a new era. Indigo's have wisdom of a different order and are the predecessors of an evolutionary step in the history of humankind, the transformation to the spiritual and intuitive in humanity.
